Place of Deciet

A picture taken of Propaganda City in North Korea. There's very little actually there, looks like a full city but most of those buildings are hollow and most of the windows are loudspeaker arrays that used to blast communist propaganda all day long. No one ever actually lived here, however for a time individuals were paid (rather forced on pain of death) to stay here and make the city look lived in. When it was still operational, one could tell during the night that most of the buildings were completely hollow because the lights at the top would be abnormally bright and gradually taper off as you looked through lower and lower windows.

South Korea also has a city located on their side of the 38th parallel that is used primarily as an agricultural district, and is kept a very family oriented place. Regrettably it was overcast and foggy, however I hope that this picture can capture your heart and mind now that you know what you're looking at.

As an additional anecdote, that flagpole is referred to by the U.N. forces as the "Flagpole of Compensation" as it was only built after the South Korean side raised theirs. It was built for the sole purpose of being taller than the flagpole on the South Korean side.
